SOUNDTRACK

RAVENS

Director Mark Gill has commissioned Paul Lay to compose the film's soundtrack for his long-awaited biopic on the tormented life of Japanese artist Masahisa Fukase. Lay's writing has long been nourished by 1960s jazz, as embodied in the music of John Lewis, Ahmad Jamal and Dave Brubek. For this creation, Paul Lay has collaborated with composer Théophile Moussouni.

For ten years, Masahisa Fukase atones for the failure of his affair with his muse and lover Yoko Wanibe by photographing ravens all over Japan. This series led to a book entitled "Ravens", considered his absolute masterpiece.

Studio recording from January 16 to 18 for official release in May.
